  • Chat messages (encrypted in transit but stored until account deletion)

Public Profile Information: By default, most user-contributed information—including name, profile photos, gender, occupation, education, and certain optional personal attributes—will be publicly visible on your profile. Data used solely for matching purposes (e.g., your preferred search radius or age range preferences) will remain private. Precise geo-coordinates, birthdate, phone number, and email address are never shown publicly. 

Some of the information you provide—such as your political views, religious beliefs, or personal preferences—may be considered sensitive under applicable law. This information is required for certain app features and may allow others to infer your views or orientation through filters or search settings, even if not directly displayed on your profile. 

 

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Match you with compatible users: Your personal preferences, location, and profile details help us suggest potential matches.

  • Improve your user experience: We use data to enhance app features and provide personalized content.

  • Ensure safety and security: Real-time location tracking helps us identify nearby matches and maintain the integrity of user interactions. Location tracking is required while the app is open and cannot be disabled.

  • Communicate with you: We may send updates, support messages, or important notifications related to your account.

 

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We take your privacy seriously and limit data sharing to the essentials:

  • Hosting on AWS: All personal data is securely stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS processes your data in accordance with its Terms of Service.

  • We route traffic through Cloudflare to AWS for bot protection and non-US IP blocking. Communications between Cloudflare and AWS are secured via TLS. Privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

  • We will use Twilio to confirm that phone numbers used to sign up are not from VOIP numbers for bot protection: https://www.twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy

  • No Third-Party Access: We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing, advertising, or tracking purposes.

 

5. Data Security

We implement strong security measures to protect your personal data:

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted using TLS during transmission and AES-256 at rest.

  • Password Protection: Passwords are securely hashed through AWS Cognito.

  • Additional Security: To prevent unauthorized access, AWS Cognito is used for authentication, and access permissions are granted based on user role (e.g., end-user vs. admin). Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is enabled for added security.

  • Chat Security: While chat messages are encrypted in transit, they are stored in their original form until you delete your account.

 

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • Immediate Deletion: All personal data, including chat messages, is permanently deleted immediately (often in as little as 30 seconds).

  • No Backup Storage: We do not retain any backups of your personal data after account deletion.

 

7. Your Privacy Choices and Data Visibility

We give you meaningful control over your personal information, including the ability to view, edit, and delete your data anytime. However, certain profile fields are required to use the app and are visible to other users by design. Other fields—such as your exact location, private preferences, and credentials—are used solely for internal purposes and are not displayed publicly.

  • View and Edit Data: You can view and update your personal information directly in the app settings.

  • Public Profile Data: 

Please note that most personal information you provide when setting up your profile—such as your name, photos, gender, and optional attributes like political views or religion—will be visible to other users. By using the app, you acknowledge and accept this default visibility. Fields used only for matching (such as your age or location preferences) will remain private. In creating or editing your profile, you can choose not to share certain personal details publicly by leaving those fields blank. However, some profile data is required to use the app’s core features.

  • Delete Data: You may delete your account at any time, which will remove all your data promptly and permanently.

  • Optional Data: You may choose not to provide optional information. However, you must provide mandatory information (e.g., location, age) in order to use the app.

 

8. Tracking Technologies

We minimize the use of tracking technologies:

  • No Cookies: We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics.

  • Access Tokens: We store authentication tokens to keep you logged in securely.

  • No Third-Party Tracking: We do not share your data with third parties for tracking or advertising purposes.

 

9. Age Verification and Protection of Minors

We take the protection of minors seriously:

  • Self-Reported Age Verification: Users must enter their date of birth during registration.

  • Not for Minors: Our service is strictly for users 18 years of age and older. We do not permit individuals under 18 on our platform. If you suspect that a member is under 18, please use the reporting mechanism available on the service.

  • Fraudulent Sign-Ups: If a user has used false information about their age, we will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services evolve.

  • Notification of Changes: We’ll notify you of any significant changes via in-app notifications or email.
